Blogger Recognition Award Pt. 2!!

HI :3

2016-06-18 00.08.14

WOOOO!! Thank you to the wonderful Allie M. for nominating me for this award! She’s such a sweet and sincere person so you guys should also check out her blog and award post.

Here are the rules of this award:

1. Write a post to show your award.
2. Acknowledge the blogger that nominated you.
3. Give a brief story about how you got started blogging.
4. Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
5. Nominate 15 bloggers for the award.

I started my blog in the middle of exams last May and I wanted to do it to be able to keep track of all the crazy things that have been happening in my life. For me, writing is really therapeutic and blogging just gave me something to look forward to doing: be it daily or weekly or even monthly. I got a lot of motivation just knowing that I wanted to put up posts on my blog and I wasn’t really in it for getting views or followers. This blog is just my way of placing landmarks in my life 🙂

My two pieces of advice:

  1. Don’t be pressured to write about something you don’t like just because everyone else is doing it. Your blog is yours and nobody else’s (unless you co- own it) so only you can make decisions on what to post. Be happy and content with what you post on your blog because that’s what makes your blog unique 🙂
  2. Remember to be safe online. I think this just goes without saying but just remember the limits of what you should and shouldn’t post. Your safety comes first. Always.

I now nominate:

Thank you for reading this post 🙂

Friday Fives- things that calm me down

HI :3

2016-06-03 21.02.49

I have to admit, today hasn’t been one of my best days. If any of you have read my latest post then you’ll probably have a slight idea as to why I’m feeling down in the dumps (does anyone even say that anymore??). Anyway, I initially thought I would make the topic of this Friday Fives as things that annoy me or my pet peeves but I figured, why should I focus on stuff that irritates me even more?

So, here it is: the top 5 things that calm me down:

1) Listening to anime OSTs

As much as I love watching anime, I also enjoy listening to certain openings, endings or other anime related music. But if I’m trying to calm myself down, it has to be an acoustic or lullaby version so I feel ultra relaxed. This is one of the first things I do when I’m feeling annoyed: just plug my earphones in and forget about the world around me.

2) Writing in my journal/ blog

I’m guessing that a lot of people here will agree with me when I say that writing is very therapeutic. Doing it helped me deal with my thoughts and emotions because writing it down made me feel as if I was telling someone else about what’s bothering me without any worries of judgment, criticism or the like. Writing in my journal definitely makes me feel this way and sometimes I take on two personalities when I write. The “emotional” one which is when I just pour out all my raw thoughts and feelings into the page and usually leads to really messy handwriting to the point that even I can’t read it anymore; and the more “level – headed” one which is my more rational side that tries to make sense of all my negative thoughts and what I should do to resolve my problems.

3) Watching funny let’s plays/ videos

I watch certain YouTubers that make me smile and laugh to pick me up after having a rough day. These sorts of days can be really draining so just watching them helps me to chill and remember that the world isn’t all that bad.

4) Looking at pictures

Just recently, I had a certain bunch of pictures developed so that I could physically hold and look at them whenever I wanted to. All the pictures have a certain meaning or were taken at a significant event which reminds me of the greater times of my life. Having these reminders helps me to think that the bad stupid days aren’t gonna last.

5) Playing video games

I’m really picky when it comes to choosing stuff to calm down so I rather play single- player games to relax so that I don’t have to deal with other people first. I also usually play strategy/ RPG games because there are certain objectives that you have to reach or there are smart ways to play the game. Thinking in this way and having fun really gets my mind of whatever’s bothering me which relaxes me a lot.

So that’s it for this week’s Friday Fives. I’d like to just thank the people who took the time to read this and my other post. You guys are awesome for listening 🙂

Now I’m off to play some more games,

Liebster Award!

HI :3

liebster2

I’m doing another award post- the Liebster Award! I was motivated by KTwritings‘ own post to do this and I would like to thank her for being so supportive of me :).

The rules of this award are:

  • Thank the blog that nominated you and link back to them
  • Make a blog post telling 11 facts about yourself
  • Answer the 11 questions from the blog that nominated you (I only have to do 5)
  • Prepare 11 questions for those you will nominate

11 Facts about me:

  1. I’m just 5’1 (very short for a 17 year old)
  2. I absolutely hate watching horror movies but don’t mind watching let’s plays of horror games
  3. I do a lot of baking and cooking
  4. I was pushed into a metal gate at 4 yrs. old and had to get nose surgery
  5. I did home-school and had to teach/care for my sister at the same time
  6. I have a weird eating habit: I eat my main course then have some dessert and then eat some more of the main course
  7. I get sick if I eat salty stuff before bed
  8. I’d rather listen than talk
  9. I love singing but will probably break your ears
  10. My normal voice is kinda deep but can reach high pitches if I try
  11. I sometimes refer to myself in 3rd person

My 5 answers:

1. What’s your spirit animal and why?

My spirit animal is a deer because I can be quite sensitive but also very intuitive.

2. Do you believe in love at first sight?

Nope. I think it takes time to truly be in love with someone.

3. Favourite movie and why?

This changes often! My fave atm is Captain America: Civil Wars (Team Cap).

4. If you had a chance to do one thing irrespective of what anyone had to say about it, what would it be?

I would probably just go out and walk for as long as I can by myself. I could be doing anything while I’m at it: singing, eating, reading and just generally enjoy my alone time.

5. What is something we’d be surprised to know about you?

I wasn’t shy when I was a child- I participated in lots of performances but now I hate being up on stage if I don’t have to be.

My 11 questions for those I nominate:

  1. What was your childhood ambition and did it change?
  2. If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
  3. Who inspires you the most?
  4. What’s the one thing about yourself that you’re most proud of?
  5. What’s your most cherished memory?
  6. Do you believe in love at first sight?
  7. What is something we’d be surprised to know about you?
  8. What do you do to relax?
  9. Which song do you emotionally connect to and why?
  10. What is your dream for your blog?
  11. This is a set of two questions. You might have seen this one around the net so:

You can only answer ‘yes’ ONCE and ‘no’ ONCE:

11a. Are you awesome?

11b. Were you lying?

I’m going to nominate a few awesome bloggers but if anyone else would like to do this, then feel free to do so! I would love to hear your questions and answers 🙂

I nominate:

Once again, thank you to KTwritings for motivating me to do this. I had a lot of fun answering the questions and making up my own. I hope you do too!

Friday Fives – Hobbies

HI :3

2016-06-03 21.02.49

I just had this random idea that I could do a small post every Friday where I write down a list of 5. This list could have anything: quotes, favourites, what I don’t like, etc. I’m not sure where this series of posts could lead to but I figured I’d give it a try.

For my first Friday Fives, here’s my list of my Top 5 hobbies:

2016-06-03 20.56.45

1) Watching YouTube videos

After giving it some thought, I realized that I watch YouTube more than anything else right now. I have a few favourite YouTubers whose videos I always watch because they always make me smile when I’m down, teach me how to make awesome food and help me learn more about random topics.

2) Being with my best friends

There are only a few people I’ve made this unspoken promise with and being with them really calms me down. It doesn’t really matter what we’re doing, we could be watching a movie, talking or just sitting together and I’d feel a lot calmer already.

3) Writing/ blogging

It’s been nearly a month since I started blogging and so far… wow. Writing helps me relieve my thoughts and feelings in a good way and being able to connect with other people through my blog has helped me in so many ways. I’ve also recently had a huge amount of inspiration to write different posts and it’s actually my third day of posting consecutively (woo!) so I’m definitely enjoying it.

4) Baking

As much as I love eating food, I also love making them and baking is just really fun for me (and my family… and my friends… ’cause they get to eat the treats I made). I also find it great because I can share my creations with others see their happy faces when they eat them.

5) Watching anime

Ever since school ended, I’ve been catching up with all the anime that I’ve been wanting to watch or have been recommended to me. Currently, I’m in the middle of watching 3 series, 2 of which are ongoing and the other is completed with about 24 episodes. This activity is kinda weird because even though it’s my hobby, it’s something that comes in periods. So sometimes, I’ll watch the whole series in a day and keep doing this for a few days; but other times, I just don’t feel like watching anything.

Aaand that’s my Top 5 hobbies! It was a bit hard to narrow it down to five things but these 5 are definitely what I either do the most/ enjoy the most. I’ll be back next Friday with a new Top 5 list!
